ENGINEERING NOTE
PowerFlex migration checklist
Motor data, supply voltage, feedback, I/O, network, mechanical dimensions and parameter behavior all need to be verified together.
Checkpoints for a drive migration
- Record the existing drive's catalog number, voltage class and current/power rating.
- Extract the motor nameplate data (voltage, current, kW/HP, frequency).
- Check the feedback type (encoder, resolver, sensorless) against the target PowerFlex platform.
- Map the command and speed reference signals (analog, digital, network).
- Define the network profile (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus) and node addressing.
- Validate interlock and safety (STO / safe torque off) circuits separately.
- Compare mechanical dimensions (panel layout, cable entry/exit, cooling).
- Document parameter behavior (ramp, limits, PID, process-specific settings).
- Prepare the offline parameter upload and FAT plan.
- Build the cutover, commissioning and motor run-test sequence for the planned shutdown.
